South Beach House of Tennis (formerly Miami Mavericks) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Florida corporation which promotes recreational tennis as a healthy activity and safe space in the Miami-Dade area. We are a proud member club GLTA and all are welcome to join us!
SoBeHoT gathers regularly on and off the court - including traveling to GLTA events, professional tennis tournaments outings and viewing parties, pool parties and more.
Proceeds from our groups hits and events directly supports the local high school tennis program at Miami Beach Senior High and to the GLTA. Learn more below.

At South Beach HOUSE OF TENNIS - our mission is to create a vibrant, safe and inclusive community for LGBT+ individuals who share a passion for tennis.
We strive to provide a safe and empowering space where players of all skill levels can come together, connect, and enjoy the sport they love. Through our activities and events, we aim to promote diversity, acceptance, and equality within the tennis community.
Our club is committed to fostering a supportive and friendly environment, where everyone feels welcome and encouraged to be their authentic selves. Together, we aim to celebrate the joy of tennis, build lasting relationships, and make a positive impact in our local community.
ABOUT COACH COX
Jamieson, or as many call him, Coach Cox is an ex D1 player and coach and has coached Bille Jean King National Tennis Center. Though is full time in tech, he is not just our Head Coach, but also the Head Coach for Miami Beach Senior High boys and girls teams.
He started this group in 2022 which quickly grew into a Whatsapp chat of over 150 passionate South Beach tennis locals - hosting regular hits, major tennis viewing parties hosted by local restaurants and more.
After becoming the Miami Beach’s Head Tennis Coach that same year, the group decided to became a booster for the schools tennis program with their fees contributing to the cost of supplies, annual awards and additional supply to help build the high school program.
